What Malaysian kitchens actually supply
Single-phase sockets and lighting in Malaysia are 220–240 V, 50 Hz. That is the supply for most tabletop induction cookers and built-in induction hobs in this catalogue (typically 1 kW to 5 kW). Line-to-line three-phase for commercial plant is commonly 380–415 V (this catalogue lists 380–420 V 3N for ranges, wok stations, and large fryers).
Do not assume a 13 A plug is enough. A 3.5 kW hob at 230 V draws about 15 A continuously at full output; a 5 kW hob about 22 A. Those figures are why commercial tabletop units are often supplied without a plug — the electrician terminates to a dedicated circuit.

Dedicated circuit, RCD, and isolation
Share a 3.5 kW cooker with a rice cooker, blender, and kettle on a trailing board and you will trip it. Give the hob its own circuit from the distribution board, with an accessible isolator so the unit can be switched off for cleaning and service.
Residual current protection (RCCB/RCBO) is normal in Malaysian boards. Induction appliances can nuisance-trip a poorly selected device if several units share one sensitive RCD. That is a coordination issue for the electrician, especially on a commercial line with several cookers.
Built-in hobs need air under the counter as well as amps
A built-in induction hob dumps heat into the cabinet. If the carpenter closes the cupboard with no ventilation gap, the hob will throttle or cut out even on a correctly sized circuit. Confirm cut-out, cable entry, and clearance on the model page (for example BT-350T) before the worktop is cut.

Three-phase commercial plant
If you are replacing a multi-burner gas range with an EW5/5T induction range or specifying the EW15WOKB 15 kW wok station, budget for three-phase as part of the kitchen, not as an accessory. The connected load can be 15–30 kW. That is in the same conversation as extraction, grease filters, and floor drainage — not a “buy a thicker plug” conversation.
Confirm 3N voltage, earth, and isolator location with the contractor before you lock the furniture layout. Moving a 110 cm wok station after the floor trap is poured is expensive.
